Many of you have been very curious on what does a Virtual Assistant do, the totality of the picture is vague to ordinary people whos not used of the term for what they only know is the usual 8-5 kind of work. Today, many people are either planning or already a virtual assistant. We have different needs and priorities as an individual. You might prioritize your family more than anyone else but wants to work to help in the budget making. Whatever your goal is, its up to you.
Me as an example is a fulltime employee in a government service. Being employed with a permanent status is what others envy. But things changed when I had two kids, both became very sickly late 2012 and I have been on leave every other week or so. Its not healthy on my part too. Until, I decided to just work from home and at the same time rear my children( I now have 3 😊) according to my beliefs, customs and plan. I can dedicate more time with them. Many people think Its an irrational way of thinking. But, for me its a calling. I feel more happy and challenged at the same time being a Virtual Assistant. I had to create a new kind of working system that would benefit not only my clients but my family as well.
Virtual Assistant is an individual who works "virtually" meaning in front of a computer screen doing administrative, graphics, technical tasks from clients all over the world. These days, being a VA is an in demand career for those who wants to earn for their family without leaving their home. You can either work in a cafe, restaurant, parks, library, the list will be endless as long as you do you job as expected.
If you decided to be a VA, you must have the necessary skills and be tech savvy enough to learn new trends so that you will have a lot of things to offer to your clients. But, I read an article that one must specialized on a specific niche to further serve your clients. It all depends on what your goal is.
Being a VA is not easy as others may think of it was. I started with a very low rate but as my skills and expertise diversified, and so as my salary :). One tip would be is not to Stop learning. Keep on doing research, read more and upgrade your skill sets so that when a Client contacted you or when you apply for work, your confident enough to serve them.
Ill be doing more posts on being a Virtual Assistant in a weeks to come.
